Hemp Uses For Pets
There are many products made today for the family pet from industrial hemp, there are collars, leashes, harnesses and animal bedding. There are also nutritional hemp seeds that are packaged to add to pet and livestock foods to add to the nutritional value for their daily food. This is because the hemp seeds are naturally nutritious, having vitamins, minerals, calcium, iron and Omega 6 and Omega 9 fatty acids.
The collars, leashes and harnesses made from hemp fibers are naturally strong even for large pets and they are also comfortable for the pet to wear.
The hemp bedding is especially favorable for several reasons, the first is this is a dust free type of bedding; it is also more absorbent than other types of bedding made of wood chips. Wood chips are not as absorbent and this can cause animals to not use it or become ill from resting in the dampness. There is also the difference that is found with the amount of time the different products will become biodegradable, the hemp will breakdown approximately two times faster than wood chip bedding.
Since the hemp bedding degrades so quickly and is produced without the destruction of trees it is one of the earth friendly types of bedding for pets. It is also a resource that can be replaced annually and used for animals such as rabbits, gerbils, guinea pigs, mice and rats, chinchillas, hedgehogs, birds and other small caged animals with much less dust.
