What Is Hemp
Hemp is a plant that has many uses from medicine to clothing and food; the plant has been credited for having a history that spans the centuries. While many people know it as cannabis, marihuana, pot and other names, there is much more to the hemp plant than just for drug use.
Dioscorides the father of medicine, botanically named hemp plant as cannabis sativa and the famous author of the past Pliny wrote about the uses of hemp for construction purposes. One of the reasons this plant was so widely used and written about was the fact that it was so versatile and grows in many different locations and temperatures, it resists pests naturally, does not take a lot of care as it crowds out weeds. Hemp is also a fast growing plant requiring between approximately seventy and one hundred and ten days to mature.
Every part of the industrial hemp plant is useful and is used in a wide array of products from paper to cosmetics and is an eco friendly plant, the materials made from the hemp plant are biodegradable and the paper is naturally acid free.
Hemp is a plant filled with nutrition, like fatty acid including Omega 3, Omega 6 and Omega 9. It also contains Vitamin E in the seeds along with other essential nutrients. It has enough nutrients contained in hemp that it helped sustain people in Australia through two famines.
