The Many Uses Of Hemp

Hemp has many uses and has had a long history of being one of the most useful of the botanicals; it has been used for food, clothing, money and in medicine. This is a plant when its Latin name is translated it means “useful plant”. It has been used by ancient peoples of Europe and Asia, and even caused wars over its trade routes on the Mediterranean.

One of the best parts of using this plant in so many different applications today such as clothing, foods, the construction trade and others is the fact that while it makes strong materials it also is biodegradable. That is feature that few other textile products can claim and will remain in landfills for thousands of years.

The industrial hemp plant today is used to make many different foods and food products such as milk and protein powder, it is used to make clothing, canine items, baby diapers and other products. The edible products are filled with `vitamins, minerals, omega fatty acids and are a perfect choice for a person that is not able to consume dairy or tree nuts. The diapers are biodegradable and will not be sitting in landfills for hundreds of years unlike the other diapers that are manufactured. The clothing is strong, breaths and is akin to cotton clothing, without the problem of shrinking in the manner that cotton material will.

The useful plant lives up to its name for quality, but it also is the most eco friendly in manufacturing of materials.
