The Hemp Seed
The hemp seed is one of the most nutritious editable plants, full of proteins, vitamins and minerals. Besides that, hemp also produces seed oil, which can be used in replacement of olive, walnut and sunflower oils for cooking. It imparts a special flavor into dressings, dips and spreads. The hemp seed oil can also be used for hair and skin care due to its moisturizing and replenishing EFA’s.
Furthermore, hemp seeds are added in toiletry items such as soaps, shampoo, conditioner, body lotions, massage oils, bath oils, lipstick, etc.
In addition, hemp seeds have provided a combustible fuel oil throughout history. The high cellulose level that makes hemp ideal for paper also makes it perfect for ethanol fuel production. This is the cleanest-burning liquid bio-alternative to gasoline. Since gasoline engines is the primary source of carbon monoxide and greenhouse gases, an alternative fuel such as ethanol could really improve the air’s quality and diminuate the pollution.
