Because of this the industrial hemp plant can be very a profitable crop, as it is a fast growing crop farmers are able to have a higher yield than with other types of crops.

Industrial hemp is a crop that is not new to farmers it has been used since ancient times; even in colonial America the hemp was a valued crop. These early settlers knew that it could be used for food, used in making material and for other valuable products. Hemp was even used as money in these early days of the country.
