Hemp Used For Building Supplies
There are many products that have been made from hemp for the construction trade through the centuries and one of these was the use of hemp by ancient Egyptian archaeologists. They made a mixture, which is similar to concrete, but it is approximately one sixth of the weight of concrete. Hemp was also a crop that was abundant for these early men of building.
This product that is a concrete substitute is made today, and the mixture is of hemp hurds, which is the inner fiber, along with limestone and water. The hemp concrete is made much the same way as it has been for centuries.
Other products for the construction trade that have been made using industrial hemp are made from hemp oil extract. This extract and the products manufactured from it are non-toxic and they are also biodegradable. These hemp products include inks, paints and varnishes. There are also cellulose based plastics made from the industrial hemp. They can be formulated in all colors and are safe for painting homes with children and pets because they are non-toxic materials.
There can be simulated wood chips made from industrial hemp, insulation, furniture stuffing, plaster, structural beams, cabinets, and press board bonding agents. These are some of the things that can be made from the industrial hemp plant today for the construction trade and in each of these applications they are eco friendly. They are friendly because they are non-toxic products and they are also biodegradable.
